The annual Rogers Cup Player Evening was filled with Montreal's glitterati, who hobnobbed with celebrities and players on the Red Carpet, including the legendary Jimmy Connors.
Miss Chiccane was producing the evening's fashion show, which showcased the best in Canadian designer fashion, modeled by the very cute and athletic players, to the tune of the talented Misstress Barbara. Flashback on the summer's most glamorous evening!

The celebrated fashion designer Denis Gagnon recently received the mandate to create a dress inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wondeland.
Commissioned by Luminato and Lancôme, "this installation, a one-of-a-kind dress surrounded by a garden of roses provides an intriguing complement to Christopher Wheeldon's ballet performed by the National Ballet of Canada."

Miss Chiccane applauds the genius of Denis Gagnon in this sublime rendition of a little girl's fantasy. Who wouldn't dream of taking off to a faraway land, if only to wear this extraordinary dress once?
Make sure to catch this exposition in Toronto, June 10th to the 19th. Admission is free. Click here for details.

Miss Chiccane is an avid follower of Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle newsletter. I have used her advise from great hotels at glamorous destinations, to fish taco recipies. I was truy excited to receive her recent fashion styling newsletter, suggesting perfectly chic pieces to beat the summer heat! My favourite? This breezy outfit, featuring a long jersey dress paired with a blazer and fabulous heels.

If Stella McCartney is slightly over your budget, Miss Chiccane recommends the wonderful 5 in 1 dress from the eco conscious collection Thieves.

5 in 1 dress by Thieves, 164$. Available in black or heather grey.

After decades of reading about the ups and downs of Royal marriages in Paris Match, Miss Chiccane finally got to watch the wedding of the decade, happily waking up at 5AM Friday April 29th to witness history in the making. The best moment occured shortly before 11AM London time, when Catherine Middleton stepped out of a Rolls-Royce to reveal her much anticipated wedding gown.
Tears flowed. This dress was majestic, perfect for a Queen to be. More so, it came from the House of Alexander McQueen, now headed by the protégée of the late Lee Alexander, the talented Sarah Burton. Perfectly appropriate for a young, modern Duchess.
I know some of you were disappointed by the seeming plainness of the dress. I would argue that this is excatly what makes it so spectacular. The corsage of hand weaved lace, simple yet structured skirt that highlighted the bride's waist, with more of the delicate lacing details was every bit haute couture, extremely modern in its modesty yet deferent to the occasion. The dress and bride were perfectly stunning.

As for the glamorous guests, Miss Chiccane loved the chic, midnight blue dress worn by a pregnant Victoria Beckham (it was NOT black!) of her own design, as well as Zara Phillips'. Both guests were coiffed by Philip Treacy (another dear friend of Lee Alexander McQueen) fascinators, the whole being, well, fashionably fascinating!
Should you be a guest at an upcoming nuptials, royal or not, our editing team has put together a "Weddings" section with a pre-selection of appropriately festive outfits. Our top pick: the glamorous, creamy gold Stella dress by Nadya Toto.

This spring, we are falling in love with the myriad of floral prints we have seen on the runways. Set aside your LBD farther in your closet, time has come to make a bold flower statement in bright reds and fuchsias!

The best part? This look can be worn with a jacket at the office, or with a dramatic Charlotte Hosten necklace for a festive cocktail or wedding.
Our editors’ top pick: The very chic Venezia print dress by Nadya Toto.

As we finally leave those heavy knits and puffy layers away with the melting snow, we welcome Spring with the season's top trend: military chic!
The catwalks were full of exciting options in a range of army greens and utilitary adornments. To make this look modern, think linen, cropped, and belted.

Our editing team loves this ensemble by Montreal designer Eve Gravel:

1. Secret Door Cropped Jacket: 230,00$
2. Jasime Slouchy Pants: 142,00$
3. Add a feminine touch with the Gabrielle tank top: 98,00$
Make the look complete with a fresh manicure in the "Les Khakis" shades from Chanel... Miss Chiccane is booking an appointment at her fave spot Yola Pedispa for some fearless nails!

Cheers to a chic Spring!

Spring is early this year in Montreal, and with it comes invitations to some fabulous events, one of them the Mont-Royal Ball, organized by the Young Leaders Circle to benefit the kids’ hospital Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation.
Miss Chiccane’s date was her fashionista and fabulously well-connected attorney friend Kat, who had made plans for a fun evening, starting with a cocktail of pink bubbly and Red Bull. Upon arrival at the event, ladies and gents were greeted by a kryptonite décor, complete with UFO tunnel and white smoke.
Miss Chiccane’s fashion antennas had her phoning designer friend Nadya Toto, who teleported the sparkling Sofia dress in time for the event. Miss Chiccane was willingly ready for an alien abduction!

Miss Chiccane extends special thanks to friends Kat Poirier and Nadya Toto for the making of this glamorous evening!

For women’s international day on March 8, Miss Chiccane had big plans: A photoshoot of beautiful Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau in the Hope t-shirt, to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Sophie - who also brought along an eTalk camera crew for an exclusive segment on this special project - was more than generous with her grace and time, and the entire Chiccane.com team had a wonderful, creative afternoon!
Once our magnificent shot for the “Look of the Moment” was canned, the girls started acting naughty in all manners of crazy poses in front of SPG’s camera. Here’s a sneak peek to a wonderful day!

Inspired by the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, Miss Chiccane cheated on her fashion workload and hit the Laurentians ski slopes on a beautiful, sunny Wednesday afternoon. Pumped by Canadian mogul skier Alexandre Bilodeau’s gold medal performance, Miss Chiccane wanted to look good on the slopes… if not for the quality of her skiing, at least for her looks!

With the help of her Rudsak Nordik Puffer with fox fur trimmings, Miss Chiccane was prepared to win gold for style!
To all athletes competing in the Vancouver Olympic Games, Miss Chiccane wishes the best of luck to you… and an especially heartfelt GO CANADA!

Miss Chiccane was recently invited out to lunch by two of her glamorous, high-powered attorney friends from Montreal law firm BLG. The venue, hotspot Le Local, was buzzing with the town’s beautiful and famous people. To fit into this rarified crowd, Miss Chiccane slipped on her newest fetish object: her own, custom-made Charlotte Hosten necklace!

Inspired by grandmother Malo’s precious brooch, the necklace also features vintage jewelry Miss Chiccane snatched from estate sales in San Francisco. Charlotte Hosten, with her fairy hands and fertile imagination, transformed the old pieces into a resolutely modern necklace made of black silk ribbons, glass pebbles, and enough Swarovski crystals to light a ballroom.
Miss Chiccane had a wonderful lunch, glowing in her Charlotte Hosten!
